Fully expected it to be well past its prime. Surprisingly fresh look, no bricking. Nose is somewhat muted for an aussie shiraz, but really nice for a 16 year old, relatively inexpensive everyday type of wine. No tannins, smooth entry, pleasant mid palate and nice finish. Pepper is prominent, but not overpowering. Still a nice wine for its age. We'll see how it changes the second night. Drink it now while it has some life in it.

Lightly toasty dark chocolate nose with hints of plums, cassis and vanilla oak. On the palate, complexity lacking with same warm chocolate on the palate. Hardly any fruit left. Mid-palate hollow, sour on the edges. The tannins have started to go, fruit's gone and the acidity is setting in. Was probably time to drink up last year.

Excellent. We bought a case of the 95 and loved it so we picked up this bottle many years ago. Dark color and huge nose. Cherry dominates the big fruit taste. Tannins have all faded but this was very enjoyable and should probably be drunk soon.

Dark ruby red color. Black cherries, menthol, and asphalt on the nose. Dense plum and blackberry flavors, with a touch of rhubarb and herbal spice. Polished texture, with tart acidity and a slightly hot finish. Still wound pretty tight. If I had any more, I'd probably hold for 2 more years.

This was the 2nd time I have had this wine. The 1st time was in May 2001. Both my wife and I liked this wine as much or perhaps better this time around. Dark blackish red color. Burnt carmel and black cherry aromas. Much smoother than the big brutish Shiraz that Parker raves about. I actually like this style better. I did not pick up any of the herbaceousness noted by Seaquam. Nice core of red and black fruit together with black pepper notes. Fine tannins. Drinking very well now in my opinion. 91 points.

I don't know why, but I was expecting more from this. Quite ordinary.

Not as bad as others had described but definitely a bit too long in the tooth. Over the hill but still pleasant enough.

Had with Jen Hitchcox for her 35th b-Day. It was such a good wine now. A great 10 year old wine. Decanted for about a hour. Drink 'em if you got em.

Bordeau style not like a big bad typical Shriaz. Nice nose but little fruit. Drink this year.

Very smooth. Maybe another year to go possibly 2. Decanted for 30 minutes. Nice nose with licorice but not an immense amount of fruit.

($15) Fruit forward and full bodied spicy Shiraz. A meaty undertone and lots of American oak. Not bad but somewhat overwrought and in your face. $15
