  • The first of three purchased on release and properly stored. Decanted for one hour off a very light granular sediment.
On first pour, deep ruby color to the edge with pleasing, moderately intense north coast cab aromatics that were just beginning to evolve past the primary stage. This was very broad in the mouth and super silky smooth in feel. The prominent dark red fruit characteristics dominate the front and mid palate with the acidity and tannins making a timid entrance at the end.
While the flavors were quite pleasant, especially with the food, it seemed to lack that little edge of allure that I expect in a wine of this class. No Insignia or Monte Bello this, and I would be hard pressed to peg it as Napa.
It is a very pleasant effort but not inspiring or built for the long haul. I will enjoy my remaining two bottles over the next few years.

  • Cannot go wrong with this wine. Drinks perfectly at this age. Very smooth finish. Enjoyed this wonderful wine during a home-made Mexican meal which created a wonderful contrast.
