Blueberries, brambly blackberries, some strawberries, earth, old lady perfume, flowers, a hint of vanilla, new leather, and a little nutmeg on the nose. Blueberries, plum jam, blackberries, spices, earth, tart cherries, and a hint of cedar on the palate. Bright juicy acidity, fine integrated tannins, rich and full bodied, long tasty finish. What a brilliant wine. The deliciousness factor is off the roof. It's quite rich and concentrated, but the acidity draws you to another sip. And another. About the only negative is that it doesn't really seem like a syrah. Oh well. Call it a red wine and enjoy.

Smells and tastes as high quality Yakima Valley Syrah should, though in a very polished style. Texturally elegant, ultra (perhaps excessively?) refined. Medium plus acid, light tannin, and very smooth, plush. Incredibly enjoyable for what it is; it would likely have been better had the terroir's natural rusticity not been filtered out.

2014 New York Wine Experience Trip; 10/14/2014-10/21/2014 (New York City, NY): An opaque ruby wine with amazing fruit and integrated structure, this explodes with black bramble fruits, smoke, roasted meats and spice box aromas. Full-bodied, fresh and with medium-weight, sweet tannins, it places its black fruit front and center yet appropriately leaves its alcohol (listed as 14.7%) lurking in the background. Solid in the middle and very long on the finish, it is a tour de force for New World Syrah. This wine should drink beautifully over the next decade. Drink now-2024.

PnP. Lovely, well made wine, if not quite up to previous bottles. (91-92)

Paired with pate and Brie. Wow. Now I remember why I bought this bottle.
