Vanilla, Licorice, and mint on the nose. Vanilla, sweet red berries, and leather on the palate, and just a touch of tannin in the finish. Medium bodied. Soft, supple mouthfeel. Finish a bit abbreviated. Gained richness with air, and the aggressive vanilla notes subsided after about an hour open. May be a bit past its prime, or maybe it's just how the wine is, but very enjoyable. Drink up.

The Blind Drunks monthly tasting (Rich & Dana's): Tasted double blind. Deep garnet color. Notes of raspberry, cherry and soft dark fruit aromas. Mediu bodied, with somewhat muted flavors of cassis and dark fruit. Tannins clamp down on the finish.

Very opaque purple, almost inky with a pleasing strong cabby nose...rich dark berries and spice with undercurrents of oak. I did not know what to expect, but was pleased with this wines authority as I sampled the bottle over a three day span. While mellowing it never lost its punch and verve with a tannic structure that worked well with the fruits full flavor giving a lingering finish.

The first year that they sold the cab, took a few more years before they started making great ones.
