Smoky blackberry fruit comes to the fore laced with a little caramel and spice. Backed up with some pleasing tannins the texture broadened out to develop cream. Rich and warm, the finish was really persistent and all the constituents nicely resolved. Very fine. CHP 93 pts

Full-bodied with toasted notes, cigar box... Loads of fruit... Medium finish. Impressive and surprising to most that it is an Aussie wine when tasting blind. Ready. 91+

Restrained modern Barossa, not overly ripe, nor souped up with oak. Not quite as pretty as some in this style, less violet, certainly not cool climate. Interesting, will develop if the cork holds.
Claims to be 13.5% alcohol but seems a tad higher.
Odd (silly) huge heavy bottle and useless little cork.

A lovely elegant shiraz, with beautiful flavour notes and balance.

tasted alongside 2010 Quartz Hill Pyranees Shiraz this was annoyingly pruney, too ripe.
On a positive note it's quite savoury, "black bible tannins" I think is the expression (usually used for Clare shiraz).
{13.5% yet tastes higher}. Northern Barossa.
