  • Ettore Cerretta 2010 vs 2013: Beide Flasche. 3h dekantiert.

  • Alluring, bright deep jeweled ruby colour. WOW! nose that is as perfumed as the Tignanello 2004 we drank with it but higher piano notes and more graphite and pencil lead. Quite lean but beautifully proportioned femininity on the palate. Good length. Has probably recently entered its drinking window but absolutely no rush here. 92-93 with lots of upside. Thanks, Eric!

  • 100% Nebbiolo, ABV 14%. Bold and straightforward.
Overall tone is earthy and herbal. Mushroom at first, then leather, smoky, oregano, mint, star anise, espresso, dried fruit nuisance. Very complex and savory. But still need time to soften tannin. Try after 5+ years.

Nächste Flasche in 3-5 Jahren.

  • Medium garnet colour. Ripe berries and dark cherry, spices and some glycerin. Very earthy, with good acidity, fine, firm tannin and very good length of the dry, black tea leave-like finish. This wine was quite tight and unrewarding on day one, and only opened up a little after 3 1/2 hours in the decanter.

On day two, the wine was broader, more open and actually quite inviting, with ripe red fruit, ripe cherry, rosewater, marzipan and spices, and with good concentration and very good length of the balsamic finish.

For the medium-term. I would hold for eight to ten years. 91(?)

  • Tight, even after 15 minute decant. Much more expressive after an hour but needs more time to reach it’s full potential.

  • Right on the pop this was open and had the pieces of a winner Barolo. Then came the dumb period...15 minutes later. It started becoming disjointed, and then the fruit took a nap. That's my story and I'm sticking to it. "Maybe you'll wake up in 5 years," were my parting words to the wine.

  • Wonderful nose. Dark fruit, vanilla, rosehip, chocolate, new leather and fine coffeebeans. Perhaps a bit on the sweet side but so deep and profound. As expected a powerhouse on the palate, the tanninstructure completely dominates and totally mashes the fruit, this needs atleast 15 years in the bottle to even put on the dinnertable. True to it's origin and would love to try it then.

  • Still tight, very tannic, dusty brick red color, open one hour but maybe on second night it might open up. Not huge fruit at all.
*2nd and 3rd night - still tannic and dry to an unenjoyable degree. Not even food makes this worth the price.
