Served with scallops, polenta and zucchini; wanted a balanced, nuanced Chardonnay and found it in the Hapgood. Pale gold in color, floral aromas; nice minerality and crisp acidity wrap around notes of lime and apple.

Not as much oak as I expected, it's been a while since the last time I've had this so maybe my memory of the wine is off. Saline/mineral nose, crisp fuji apple. Palate had good balance, lots of ripe fruit with mineral core and good acidity. I really think this will continue to develop and improve, last bottle for me so I won't get to find out. Drinking well now with room to improve for those with patience. 91-92+

Wonderfully ripe and exotic nose of pineapple and honeydew melon, oak (but not over the top) and the merest hint of pecorino promises good things to come. Thick in the mouth with lots of body but lacking the purity of the nose, instead much fresher with lemon and saline notes and bitting acidity. Would love to re-try with more age as this has potential. Needs air now but it will be better from 2020. 92pts at present, with upside...

Full golden color. Nose: Meyer lemon, pineapple core, white peach, and baked green apple with accents of wildflowers, straw, heather, marzipan, citrus zest, cardamon, beeswax, and flint. Medium/full body on the palate: Meyer lemon, pineapple core, green apple, and white peach framed by cardamon, wildflower tea, toasted hazelnut/chestnut, lime/grapefruit zest, beeswax, and crushed oyster shell. Bright acidity. Some light tannins. Lingering citrus zest, Meyer lemon, toasted chestnut, wildflower tea, and crushed oyster shell on the long finish. Thrilling, intense, exotic, and complex. Pair with wood-grilled whitefish, rotisserie chicken, barbecued oysters, or smoked trout. Drink over the next 10 years.

Brilliant gold color; initial notes of apple, evolved to more lime and citrus notes as the bottle was open
