Pretty floral, red fruits, spice, and pickled beets level brett. Supple mouthfeel, tangy and juicy, powdery tannins, medium acid. It held together nicely over two days. Probably best over the next three years, perhaps five.

Dark fruits, some pepper, a little bit of earthiness. Nothing mind bending or overly complex; nothing fancy or exciting here, but a solid performer nonetheless. A good QPR at under $20.

This deep ruby-colored wine is a blend of 70% Grenache, 15% Syrah and 15% Mourvèdre. With an attractive aromatic profile of dark bramble fruits, blueberries, lavender and black pepper, it follows with similar flavors on a medium-bodied, fresh palate. The alcohol (listed as 14%) is nicely integrated and the medium-weight tannins are silky in texture. Solid in the middle and medium in length on the back end, this is a well-priced, high-quality Châteauneuf that should show well for several more years. Drink now-2023.

Medium garnet, classic aromas of wild berry and forest. Gorgeous mélange of red berries, spices, some oak influence, and good structure, leaving with complexity, balance and length. Interestingly, drank side-by-side with a 2012 Denner Ditch Digger (Paso) GSMC blend, which we loved as well. Like this one a bit better, as it has a bit more complexity of flavors, some Old World terroir structure, and a more muted, but rich, fruit profile. Delicious also.

With smoke, licorice and kirsch on the nose, the wine is plush, polished and ends with a rich, round, ripe wave of spicy black cherries. From a blend of 70% Grenache, 15% Mourvedre and 15% Syrah.

Not as fresh and vibrant as the first bottle I had. Hopefully better on Day 2.
