Fantastic! This is the best Seghesio Barbera that I have ever enjoyed. The balance of aged fruit with vanilla overtones, smooth tannins and medium acidity makes for a silky smooth palate leading to a very long and elegant finish. Drink before 2022.

Wonderful aroma of dark red fruit. Big mouthful of fruit with a long tangy finish. Has held up very well. The Barbera is consistently one of Seghesio's best wines. (14.8% alc)

Tasted side by side with the 2012 Vigne Marina Coppi Colli Tortonesi Sant' Andrea. The Seghesio won the taste off by a little. This one had less fruit forward. Both had excellent balance and taste. Seghesio had a little less acidity, ready to drink now.

Event - Celebration - CHRISTmas - 2016 (Wine Vault & Bistro, San Diego, CA): Pleasant experience. Bouquet rich, cinnamon, black berry. Taste powerful & big, berry, fruit punch, plum, medium to long finish Cab-like with pepper notes. Average with pairing: pan roasted ribeye steak | crispy crushed marble potato | red wine demi glacé. Very good with caper & shallot deviled eggs with crispy bacon. $23 / bottle. Tasted at Wine Vault & Bistro, San Diego, CA.

Lots of dark cherry and pepper. A hint of dark chocolate and plum. A nice surprise for the price. Really enjoyed this and it got better after 45 mins. Definitely a food wine -

Excellent for a drinking wine - likely as well with dinner. My friend and I were both delighted nicely balanced medium bodied wine. Nice nose: cherry, smoke. Limited lingering taste as expected with a barbera.

A very nice Barbera from Alexander Valley and different than Amador Barberas. A little more alcohol (as noted elsewhere, menthol on the nose), acidic and some tannins not normally seen in Barbera's, but very smooth and without too much fruit. I think this hits the sweet spot between a Pinot and Cab and is the perfect burger wine. At $38 from the winery, not cheap compared to many Amador Barbera's, but definitely worth the extra investment.

At 14.8% its a bit hot but otherwise very balanced and soft. Dense flavors I felt this needed time to evolve. It was swell with the food but maybe a bit too young.

Clear garnet, no rim browning. Menthol, pine cone, red currant, blackberry jam. Medium to high acids, low tannins. Butterscotch. Medium short acidic finish

Needs 1+ hour of decanting. Very balanced with a smooth tannic finish. Enjoy now, or keep saving.

I like this Barbera a lot. Not too tannic - great with food but also nice on its own.

Very pleasant drinking. Darker ruby color, concentrated red fruit with smooth, balanced finish. Seghesio's Barbera never disappoints.

This was bigger and richer than I had anticipated. While not a heavy bodied wine it had a lot of dark fruit flavor and was nicely balanced.
