Jim's Retirement Party (Libertyville, IL): Small glass from magnum. Rich and rich with lots of fruit, but lacking the brightness from when I tasted this wine several times in 2019. Best to enjoy sooner rather than later.

Jim's Retirement Party (Libertyville, IL): From magnum. Quite fat and rich, but lacking the energy I like in a chardonnay. Soft, sweet fruit without a strong acid/mineral backbone.

Aromas of ripe white peach and flowers. The palate is broad and concentrated with layers of stone fruit and a hint of wax. Good minerality. At the riper end of white burgundy. Tasty.

Finished my last magnum of this. Performs like a high quality premier cru but for the price it is excellent value. Next day still was good. Vanilla butter and cream.

Light gold colored in appearance with aromas of butterscotch and vanilla. It tastes like vanilla and butter in the mouth. Has medium finish and the acidity needs more time to resolve.

Nice 2012 de Montille Flight (Dig Wines, San Francisco): Yellow, less deep than the Caillerets. Immediately lighter, more floral aromatics. Not nearly as blockish as that wine with a wonderful balance of zesty orange fruit and some rich lactic creaminess. Much firmer acidity and nary a trace of wood. I liked the liveliness and incipient complexity of this, which oddly enough was priced the same as the Puligny Premier Cru.

Light yellow color. Incredible smell. Balanced oak, butter, nuts and citrus. Fantastic balance. Medium length, but what an incredible wine.

Slightly oxidized with decently ripe white fruit and saline/mineral. Seems to have plenty of time left as acidity sears.

Musique & Vin - Dîner de Gala - Douzième édition du Festival (Château du Clos de Vougeot): Broad cross-section of ripe apple, perhaps a hint of peach. Starts off ripe and rich, good structure in the middle then helps this comes across as both elegant and powerful.

Musique & Vin Festival BYO Dinner with Musicians (1243 Bourgogne Society - Beaune): Rich apple and baked apple character throughout with peach hints on finish. Good weight to start, then expanding and even bigger and bolder towards its finish, still firmly structured. Upside from here.
