Drunk over 2 nights. This was absolutely awful upon decant/pour; I was certain it was corked or at least stored improperly [auction purchase for me]; very close to pouring it down the drain. Somehow, someway this slowly evened itself out over the first night - to a place where it became a marginally acceptable drinker. The second night showed further evolution, as it got rid of all the hard edges & became tasty if not simple, and is from where my final score came.

The wine looks Garnet colored. The legs are Medium. It smells like Strawberry, Raspberry, Red Currant, Fig, and Smokey Bacon. It tastes like Raspberry, Strawberry Jam, Stoniness, Oak, and Phenolic. The body is Medium. The wine has Satin-like texture. The wine finishes Medium.

Another good QPR grenache from Sans Liege! A little too early for this one and needs more time. But good grenache fruit and not as heavy and big as the other Sans Liege grenaches.

Stop me if you've heard this before (for like, 27 vintages) - super-solid for the price.

Solid Grenache, a go-to wine. Good to introduce the varietal at a wine tasting. Buy again.

Reasonably simple, but good tasting fruit and a decent finish.

2011 Sans Liege Groundwork Grenache +++ $18
Juicy, round, chewy, rich and delicious. Satisfying simplicity.
