A medium body Vino Nobile that shows a traditional style and typical Sagiovese flavors. There is light cigar and chewing tobacco flavor in the middle and finish. Finish was dry tannin with a sweet edge of fruit

PnP. Opaque, ruby red fading to a significant strip of orange at the edge. Aromas of dried cherry, leather, tobacco, wet dirt, some herbal notes. On the palate dried fruit, a bit of heat, medium acidity, medium- tannin, a slight astringent note, finishes with a warm note. This tastes mature to perhaps a bit past peak. Nicely balanced complexity.

PnP which is rare for me, but this was very nice out of the bottle. Translucent light to medium garnet colored with a nose of cherry, vanilla, mocha and a touch of menthol. Palate has low tannin and moderate acidity with flavors of some earthy cherry, pomegranate and a minty finish. After an hour or two there was a slightly bitter finish. This was great with a sausage, mushroom and sage pasta.

PnP. Nicely mature with secondary aromas and flavors becoming more prominent. Tannin has softened and integrated. May be approaching end of life with some oxidized notes creeping in after a couple of hours.

PnP out of storage. Brick red with a bit of orange at the end. Aromas of darker cherry, dirt, mushroom, forest floor and dried herbs. Flavors of fruit, mushroom, dirt followed by a wash of acid with a bit of oak, ending with tannin, dried herbs and a lingering hint of mushroom and forest flavors. Quite good immediately on opening. Transitioning from fresh fruit to more dried fruit aromas and flavors. Drink with dinner of Italian tuna, pasta and arugula salad. With the food the wine paired well. There was some red pepper on the mozzarella that clashed some with the wine. After dinner some notes of spice are showing up.

PnP out of storage. Darker cherry aromas, dirt, forest floor, a bit of underbrush. Color is deep red with a bit of translucency and then orange at the edge. A bit of volatile blow off. Very good after just a few minutes. On the palate cherry, cranberry, licorice, dirt, mushroom, underbrush, a little wood, tart acid, mild tannin and a mouthwatering finish. Drinking well on its own. Drink with dinner of homemade pork sausage and ground beef red sauce with porcini mushrooms, and an arugula salad with aged provolone and a sherry niegar/olive oil vinaigrette. With the food the fruit is more muted, tannin milder and a bit of heat on the finish. This wine is close to fully evolved at this time.

Nose opened within minutes to very nice sangiovesi character, with increasing earthiness over black and red cherry and mushrooms. Initially stood up to sausage pasta. But faded over the next hour. Not complaining, just pour a round for the pasta course, chat, quaff and move on.

Medium-dark red. Nicely perfumed but a bit reticent in both nose and flavor. Leans toward a leaner, Chianti-style but still thoroughly Vino Nobile. 100% sangiovese, according to the label, without any canaiolo or mammolo. Some tannin in the finish plus good acidity indicates this wine will continue to develop or at least another 5 years.

Bottle age showing very nicely, as with my prior comment. I sure wish this wasn't my last bottle.

Solid. Light weighted red fruits. Almost pinot-like in acidity and structure... but darker fruits. Enjoyable

A traditional style Vino Nobile. Nice smooth mouth with that Sangiovese tang on the edge. A long fruit finish with a strong black tea tannin.

Stared at an underwhelming 85- and ended up in the 87 range. Will let sit in decanter next time for a while.
