I don't know how this bottle got into my cellar, but I popped it for Brian and Kathy's visit. A plummy, slightly overripe nose. Faded fruit and tannins that leave no distinct impression. This wine is on its last legs--- drink up now! Three days later: after a few days in the fridge, it evolved into a very pleasing cab indeed. Molli and I had it with boar sausages and French lentils, one of three leftover Napa cabs from the last few nights. The nose and fruit are still subtle but deep coffee and tobacco flavors. Very velvety, nicely balanced. The take-home message is let it open up and you'll be rewarded.
