Stiil good in 2022 January, nice grenat color with orange rim, but as much as anticipated by the lecture of others comment! A little bit of wood, but now it is quite well integrated. ( not a fan of woody wine).Maybe because the bottle and wine is at 52° Maybe it will worsen when the temperature reaches 70°! Anyway no used to wait to drink those bottle if you have some in your seller

Decanted briefly. Very good; very 2000, really the best this vintage can offer, avoiding the washed out green favors but still with a higher-acid, austere palate of tart cranberry and red cassis. Drink now-2018

NobleRottersSydney - Champers & Reds (Guillaume at Bennelong): {14%, cork} The ambience has become a bit dim to make colour judgments, but I’ll wager this is beginning to fade at the rim. A developed nose of pepper, soy and cough mixture. The palate contributes a dash of chocolatey oak. Just up to medium body in weight, with moderate powdery tannins and soft acidity, I think this low intensity wine is a bit of a victim of a somewhat mediocre vintage in McLaren Vale. The weight is mostly on the middle palate, the finish is not especially long. It misses the richness you’d expect in a 14% wine, that’s for sure. A heroic attempt by the winery to compensate for the raw materials, but falls at the last hurdle for me. Best to drink soon I think, further development is unlikely to be beneficial.

NobleRottersSydney - Coriole Wines with Mark Lloyd (Lucio's, Paddington): Deep, deep red. Somewhat to my surprise, there’s a real pongy earthiness on the nose here, which is accompanied by a pretty strong blast of oak – US I assume. On the palate the fruit is entirely subdued by the tannin & alcohol – here is another wine I find finishing very hot. I wonder if that’s the effect of a difficult vintage on the single vineyard from which these grapes come. Overall it’s disappointing, because I don’t think this will come together as a balanced package.

Dark. Deeply plummy, very soft oak.
Fruit cake, sweet red berry, nice tar spice, lovely zest, great balance and good crisp finish.

Solid aussie shiraz, well balanced with subtle nuances. Certainly not over the top, and aging nicely. Plenty of life ahead.
