Dense deep purple color with some ruby on the edge. Nose was a slightly aged mass of organic earthiness at first then the fruit emerged after an hour. Nice blackberries and raspberry.. lots of vanillla oak ...This turned into a rather pleasant fruit forward wine with plenty of structure and balance. Medium acid and appealing finish. This wine is fully mature drink up. It is on the decline, not as good as previous tastings, still Outstanding

Surprised to find this in the cellar. In great condition and better than my last bottle. It started out a little weak but gained weight over a couple of hours.

Fort Collins Winos Do Denver: an eclectic set of stellar wines!: This was great. My first note is "Yeah!". Spicy and ripe, with lovely aromas and flavours of black tea and cassis syrup. For all its ripeness, this has good acidity and great grip on the finish. New worldish, no doubt, but balanced enough to appease my Cote-Rotie basis. The 2nd best (by a stem) Cali syrah I've had. A

Beautiful. Like a Rhone on steroids. You have to like this wine. Great balance and finesse, yet aggressively vibrant. Lots of blackberry jammish fruit and a great finish.

beautiful nose of jammy fruit, deep purple to the rim, smoothe tannins, a little short in the finish the only negative to a wine that is really drinking well. with Waygu-style beef brisket.

Blind Red Hot and Blue Wines: Blind 3 - Tastes like it has some age. Soft with touches of floral on the nose. Light red berry fruit. Fading a little bit. Others liked this more than me. I preferred the samples and vintages we tasted at Hospice du Rhone last May.

Past it's prime for sure. but still full of body; aroma a bit ripe of forest floor.

Very pleasant but a little weaker than expected. Changed drinking window to 2007. Time to drink up.
