  • Well, a tale of 2-wines, the first one out the gun was smoking, ripe berries, perfect ruby red, pretty much on spot start to finish, unfortunately after an hour, give or take, it became tart, really up drinkable, disjointed, but not a flawed btl.
I probably shouldn't rate it, but hey..beware if you have any to drink. Drink it fast!!!
I re-corked/refrigerated the remaining 1/2 btl,,low and behold on day 3, it came back together, so
let's get this straight, if you open this beast, I'd give it 8-12 hours in the decanter before consuming...no joke.
The Grenache is a stubborn SOB.
And I'd say it will age easily another 2-4..5?

  • Opened this with dinner guests... This bottle was hard to share. Wide open, aromatic and light, beautifully balanced... Just wonderful.

  • a really nice Grenache Syrah blend. Fun wine - different. Medium body. Ruby. Nice balance - some fruit up front, light tannin structure, good heat and finish. Very little acidity.

  • Opened 30-40 minutes prior to serving, tasted continuously over 4 hours. Gorgeous nose showing white pepper, rose petal, tart raspberry and black cherry. I picked up a little hint of oak but it was exactly the kind I like, integrated and supporting the structure. The acidity is still young and a touch rough but with several more years it'll integrate nicely. Good firm tannins. I'll be holding my other bottles for a while.

  • deeply colored, purple rim showing moderate extraction efforts. aromatically very expressive and very primary with numerous red and dark fruit aromas... plenty of spice. on the palate the wine has moderate acidity, nice flesh on the midpalate, soft and ripe tannins that are already well integrated. wine has very good balance, good length, great intensity, ok complexity... wine isn’t particularly full of finesse but is far from clumsy for what it is... a really nice and plush but fresh texture... good expression of place and style. i loved this wine... ripe and fruity with great clarity and definition of fruit aromas... great texture... this isn’t a "classic" or “extraordinary” wine in the more traditional sense... however, all of the parts fit the wine and do so with great charm.

  • Brought a bottle of this to dinner at the Backyard in Forestville. Been wanting to try this for some time now but something always comes up. Lo and behold they had it on the wine list. Ordered off the list. Beautifully perfumed nose that was by itself worth the price of admission. But the fun didn't stop there. Think '11 Quivet Las Madres with crunchy red fruit on the finish. Just an outstanding effort that's going on my WOTY short list.
