  • Wow, really nice wine to drink now. It was elements of the traditional tar and violets of the great Nebbiolo. Coupled with some cherry flavours, a still fresh acidity and nicely mellowed tannins, this makes a great drink now. I would probably drink up soon before the fruit starts disappearing. Really impressive Aussie take on the ultimate classic! Not sure about the other reviews - maybe tried too young…

  • Darker fruits then I was expecting. I wouldn't have picked it as Nebbiolo blind but it's fine to drink even if it was a little boring. Acid and tannin were both a little low and it all just came across a bit flat. Maybe a hint of heat damage too but it seemed to be less noticeable with air.

  • Hunter Valley - 6 Cellar Doors (Hunter Valley): {screwcap, 13%, A$40} Young vines have produced this Turkish-delight infused wine, with maybe a nod to the classic violets and tar. There are plenty of tannins, but they’re coarse and open, and not the solid wall of Langhe. Medium/full-bodied, with spicy red flavours. Medium/long finish. Should last a decade. Impressive, although pricey.
