2013 Collestefano Rosa di Elena

  • After a delicious Pibarnon rose last night, I was curious to see how Collestefano compares. This shows a little more fruit on the nose with some dried herbs. On the palate, some pale red fruits, berries. Tart hard candy. There is moderate acid and some mineral but neither are as prominent as in the Pibarnon. Overall this is pleasant but not as complex or interesting.

  • We both enjoyed this fairly pale, salmon colored rose. Dry, crisp and tart with some mineral notes. It has been a couple years since I've had a Collestefano rose, but based on this showing, I'll add them into our rose rotation with Boulay and Montenidoli.
