Drinking beautifully right now, but wouldn’t recommend holding any longer. Deep almost opaque garner/purple color, good clarity. Aromas of dark fruit, a hint of wood and earth, silky texture, rich mouthfeel, and more flavors of dark berries balanced by background of cedar, earth, and subtle spice. Full-bodied without being heavy, with a moderately long finish with lingering wood and hint of spice. Wish I had just one more bottle! Cortina has been one of the most consistently delicious Seghesio Zinfandels, at an excellent price point (especially for us Seghesio club members!). Highly recommended!
Had nice fresh fruit of blue and blackberry, nice briariness and a beautiful finish, but it was off from past bottles.. Too old? -- maybe, but I think not, fruit was too fresh and everything seemed ok but the impression was just not there. Perhaps a "dumb" or "flat" stage in its development. I still enjoyed it but...

Aug 16, 2019 The suggested drink by date is 2019 but I believe there’s more time in this bottle. It has a wonderful balance of alc to acid, great fruit, and subtle spice notes. The front to back of palate does not fade. I’ve had the bottle open for 2hrs and it hasn’t changed one bit. A very prettyZin. 90 pts

Another stellar vintage from the Seghesio line. Tons of fruit with raspberry, pepper and spice. As always, great with food especially barbecue. Love the Zins from Dry Creek.

What a surprise. No decanting, temp 17 C. This bottle was much better than previos tasted nov 2015. Light version of Priorat? maybe I should have bought some more!! Will give my last two bottles some more years in cellar to see if they will reach 92

Perfect wine for a summer BBQ. Brambly fruit on the nose with a hint of cigar box. Carries through to the pallette with a nice spicy classic Zin finish.

Did a side by side of 4 2012 Zinfandels from Sonoma: Seghesio Old Vine, Monte Rosso, and Cortina plus Mazzocco Smith Orchard Reserve. Alll were escellent(above 90): the Cortina was on the light side and the Old Vine was much stronger and the Monte Rosso was in between with more subtleties, tobacco mushroom. The Mazzocco was the strongest of the four to the extent of being over powering and considered the least favorite.

Deep burgundy, cherry with a bit of pepper and alcohol aroma. Really tasty with a sirloin tip roast. I think it's got a great finish too. Up front a bit of cherry and maybe raspberry. Really nice offering.

Fruity and jammy, strong nose. Palate follows up with smooth dry dark berries with hints of red berries. I find it to be well balanced. Long finnish. Good quality and value for money. Drink now.

Smooth and balanced with a lengthy finish. Red fruits with some nice Zin spice and flavors, and the oak is nicely integrated. In a really good spot right now.

This is a well balanced wine that leads with red and dark berries and follows to some prickly spice and nice acidity. The finish is moderately long with nicely layered with oak, cedar, fruit and some dry, but smooth tannin.

Cherries, blueberries, vanilla...hint of cinnamon? Maybe a little bit of orange peel back in there? Round mouthfeel, but nice balance. Might let my other bottle sit a year or two, if I can wait.

Complex - dark fruit but not jammy. More like a blend than a straight zin. Tannins well integrated, nice finish. This shoudl go for a few more years but opened nicely. Went well with grilled, smoked pork roast.

This is a medium rose color and looked to be light to medium body, but when in the mouth it was surprisingly big and round with heavy fruit flavors. Balance is good and finish is lovely and long tickly tannin. I am looking to see how this develops; there seems to be a hidden character that is trying to break out.

The wine looks crimson colored. The legs are medium. There is no sediment in the bottle. It smells like blackberry, mineral and stoniness. It tastes like blackberry and black currant (cassis). The body is medium. The wine has smooth texture. The wine finishes medium. The wine has low acidity.

medium ruby colour, mesium intense nose with aromas of ripe fruit/berries, cocoa, vanilla, oak, cocos, cinnamon, blackberries and almond oil.
on the palate its dry, medium+ acidity, high alcohol, full bodied body and pronunced flavour intensity, medium fine grained tannins. Aromas of; ripe berries adn fruit, vanilla, oak, cinnamon, some cocos and cocoa. medium+ lenght.
the wine is of very good quality, but i do not think it will improve by further keeping, drink soon. Well balanced and intense wine with great concentration and complexity, especialy on. Lenght is as you would expect with a powerfull wine as this, but lack the intensity and structure too be outstanding, also the alcohol sticks out a bit on finish. 87-88p
