  • pretty darn good...good (not great but pretty darn good) length and mouthfeel. sold fruit but secondary flavors gave the flavor profile complexity. nose was a maybe a disappointing component as relatively silent. last bottle but would be interest on where this is in a couple of more years.

  • Energized, high velocity aromas of crystalline red raspberry, mushroom, spices, wood bark and fatty game. Focused, tense on the palate, which highlights that intriguing bark note. Fresh vibrant finish showing wonderful corduroy texture. Drinks well but another year or two should soften the edges a little.

  • Strong with a profound bitterness--even so has complex flavors, pleasurable and interesting. I have no way to predict if this will improve or is over the hill, but something seems a little out of balance. Maybe it's oak flavors that are too strong? The finish is also very intense with mostly mineral and wood flavors, but a definite tannin tingle. My wife loved this wine.

  • Still a big wine, in no danger of decline. A large specimen, with a lot of fruit left. I'd prefer a bit more structure, but other than that, I don't find the wine too oaky or extracted. (How can a wine be too winey?) The nose is nice, not spectacular, and the length is nice and balanced, but not spectacular. The mouth is quite big, and quite good. Perhaps that begs for drinking now - irrelevant, though, since this was my last of 2 bottles.

  • Popped and poured. A pleasing, lively nose of sappy red cherry, blackberry, grilled meat, mushroom, charcoal and face powder. Rather closed on the palate and finish with a hard, stony profile. After a couple of hours the nose showed more earthy raspberry and a strong oaky mocha note. The palate opened a little to reveal bright wild berry and sweet earth. The finish remained hard and ungiving. Needs another 2-3 year to fully integrate the oak. Good, not great now, but holds promise.

  • Dark, intense and deep Pinot - unfortunately my least favorite R-C to date, and it is because of the oak. It is unbearable, it throws the wine off-balance, and uncharacteristic of R-C wines as I have known them since 2002. I was really disappointed the first night and it did not integrate the second night either... I poured a 1/3 of the bottle down the drain, which I've NEVER done with Radio-Coteau.

  • I popped and poured. It was a nice wine with good fruit but the tannins were a little harsh to me. I would decant at least an hour before drinking.

  • Seemed a little bit "heavy" to warrant a better score. Well-done wine but maybe a bit heavy on the oak?

  • This is one of Eric Sussman's low production pinots, I believe that there was only 60 cases produced. I cannot believe that Parker gave this wine a 90 final rating. Garnet color, typically much darker than the Savoy or Neblina. Nose of cinammon, orange peel, garan marsala, cranberry and just hint of vanilla. Full bodied with a spicy cranberry, pepper, bloody beef and forest floor taste. Great Easter dinner of grilled salmon with a ginger orange mustard glaze, garlic scented mashed sweet potatoes with cilanto and an aspargus, red pepper, and spinach salad with goat cheese. Unbelieveable!!!!!!!!

  • ($50) Effusive nose of sweet dense fruit. Slightly bitter pomagranete and black cherry. Similar palate. Earch. May soften with some time. Rich. Good.

  • Better than I was anticipating. Opens with rich brambly aroma and follows in kind with rich flavors, emphasizing spice and fruit. Finish was very long with dark subtle flavors gradually unfolding and morphing.
