First taste after opening: nose is very stemmy at first; color is starting to show a hint of brown at the very edge; nothing concerning; first sips are interesting, flavor is dried fruit— plum/prune; overall just ok, not great. After a bit of time, the bouquet is not improving and overwhelming the flavor experience— a fatal flaw. Decided to move on…

A not bad wine for the price. A little sweet on the tongue with a bit of a funky finish. It did open up some after an hour. I liked the wine and would purchase it again.

As this looked to open up, I got a mixed bouquet of dried plum/fig and singed straw. With more air time, red berries, lavender, and underbrush came through. Generally balanced, but the acidity shines through. Someone mentioned this Lirac wine is like a baby CdP, and that is not without merit. I’ve used the wines of Lirac to demonstrate to western wine drinkers what the Rhone is all about, and will continue to do so.

Bottle from the cellar. Purchased in 2014. Still delicious and an amazing QPR. Ready to go but with plenty of life left.
nose of fresh picked dark berries, dried plum, old fashioned candy and garrigue. Zero brett. but a pleasant tang.
Medium bodied, plummy structural acid and sticky tannins. Good mix of candied, slightly raisined, and brambly wild fruit on the palate. The maturity and lack of oak aging allows nuanced flavors to shine through. Cherry menthol, ripe blueberry, and a touch of black coffee and cured meat.
Drink now-2018

I really love this wine! Picked some up at Binny's on sale for $12 and was disappointed to find sale was over and price was back to $19. Was very surprised a couple weeks later to see it in end of bin special for $10. Bought every last bottle! Delicious, ripe red fruits. Easy drinking with classic Rhone profile.
Really good stuff! I had previously overloaded on the 2009 and this was very similar. Juicy red fruits. Rich but easy to drink. Lirac is like a baby CdP that you can drink right now. I am in love with this!

Totally enjoyable Rhone here. A little lighter than the '10, both visually and mouthfeel, but has a similar ample bouquet of aromas and rich red and black fruits on the palate with just a bit of pepper. A definite cut above your typical table wine.

more ripe and less structured than the 2010 but equally as enjoyable.
nose of ripe red fruit, licorice, white chocolate, and a hint of green herbs.
palate is more impressive than the nose with soft texture, integrated fine tannins, and balanced acidity. medium plus body with candied red and black cherry, ripe blueberry, and sweet oak. tannins are fine but with adequate grip on the finish. red clay mineral note with a hint of raisin lingers.
definitely fruit driven but with a balance rarely expressed at this price point. i paid $16. what a steal!

Overall good, but needs more time. Nose is full of dark fruits with some hints of floral notes and garrigue. The palate is full of dark fruit with plums, black cherry, and some nice hints of herbs. There is plenty of acidity to keep the fruit from feeling heavy. This is pretty good, but will likely be better in another year or two with time in the bottle. For the price I think this is very good.

Interesting and different. Through the higher acidity and still sharp tannins, resembled more Barolo than CdP.

Completely unmemorable. Worth at most half its cost, but at that price-point I'd recommend a nice Belgian Quad instead.

Big roasted black fruits with a punch on the palate. Works it out at $22.

Average Rhone wine..nothing special. Would be a good value at $12 but $18 is too much
