This wine should be singing at this point and all I got was a HUM! Flavors were tired and weak to what they should be. Tobacco was the only on target flavor. The flavors seem to be those of an over-aged wine and I know this wine should be bright and exciting. They are not. It tasted good but that's just it. I have 4 more that I hope live up to the wine's potential and this is just a bottle issue

I'm glad I held this last bottle of 4. It certainly improved from 3 years ago. However, there is still a strange background taste that I cannot get my hands on...it detracts from the overall flavor. I would love a comment from someone who has had this wine.

Excellent with pizza. Decanted for 30 minutes before consuming first glass. Some acidity with slight tannin that were well integrated and smoothed out into a mellow finish with no bite. Glad i have 4 more bottles.

Nice off sweet aroma of cherry and strawberry. Ethanol at first but that blew away after a few minutes. Flavor was more acidic and tart than expected but it subsided and finished out nicely without a bite. Off dry, medium body. I am definitely happy with my purchase of 6 from WTSO.

Based on tasting this wine left open for 11 days. With great relief because we have many more bottles, I can report that the Redi is significantly better with additional time opened. Still firm but not relentlessly astringent. More openly fruity red cherry and much more rounded texture. Moved into the top range for food compatibility, where the tannin and bright acidity really shine by melding instead of dominating.

Based on tasting the wine for 4 days after being opened. Almost opaque with an inch pour, with pleasant aromas of dark plum and cherry. The mouth entry is more Sangiovese dominated, with astringent acidity and tannin that pull the wine back from becoming lush or caressing. While the acidity does stimulate a saliva juiciness, even that fails to wash away the astringency, which in turn endures all the way through the aftertaste. Overall, despite having an 8 year opportunity to round and open, the wine remains almost all bristle and no charm. But, having seen equally warty frogs emerge to be a lovely princess, I choose to let hope spring eternal.

Garnet and brackish in color. Good amount of acidity with dried notes of flowers and red fruits. Not a very appealing nose. It tastes like it is past its prime and is heavy handed in acid and no real fruit structure.

I was disappointed by this bottle; It was not near a 93. Good solid sangiovese foundation with good acid and balance and a dry finish; but not the expected full, complex, and luscious mouth I have seen in other years of Orbaio.

Delicious, rich, and in the middle of its drinking window now. Bordeaux-ish. This was my last bottle and I wish I had waited until now to drink them. Great QPR, will buy more if it appears on WTSO.

PLCB Chairman's Tasting Fall 2015 (KoP): This one was a bit of a two-face. Hard to figure out what to think about it. At times I thought it was weak and faded, but other times it showed spicy purple fruit with anise and drying tannins. Not sure here.

Dark ruby color with fragrant cherry aromas. The sipped wine has red and black cherry fruit, a fairly smooth texture, and drying tannins. The finish is firmly dry and mildly astringent. Highly rated and moderately priced. If the wine gets more open, integrated, and delicious with additional age, the score will be even higher.

Good, but not great. This is supposed to be a Sangiovese-Cabernet-Merlot blend, but the Cabernet is the only varietal that makes itself known. This wine was low in acidity and tannins, noticeable by their absence since we were eating steak. It also lacked the complex minerally and savory characteristics that I associate with a good Super Tuscan. I'd describe it as tasting like a generic Cabernet Sauvignon from a middling vintage.

Opened and decanted for almost 3 hrs. While it was ok, def wouldn't purchase again but disappointed given the high WS rating.

This bottle took a while to open up, but after some aeration it turned into a mellow, perfumy Tuscan, pleasant and well-balanced.
Drink now with a 2-hour decant.
Edit: with additional air, roasty, coffeeish, and leafy flavors emerge. There must be some Merlot in the blend. Very nice.

Floral, perfumy, and delightful. I drank the other bottles too early.

The Reserve is WS rated 93. That is probably better.
