Decanted for 2 hours before drinking with cold meat and cheese platter. Initial appearance is that the colour is dark plum, almost black. The nose opens slowly, becoming plummy, with cassis, raspberry jam, chocolate and generally rather exquisite and very complex. The palate is rich and earthy, herbal, raspberries, leather, with fine tannins, smooth and very long. The complexity changes with an hour in the glass, but the fruit and overall quality held well. Excellent wine.

Bought a $90 bottle at a favorite restaurant. Our table of 4 was so delighted, we bought a second! This is a wonderful, big, special red. Could lay for a couple more years no doubt. Big dark fruit, earthy, leather, chocolate, pepper on the tongue. Tannins are strong, but add to the mouth full of excitement. A long hearty finish. This is a great value at $65 retail (someone has apparently posted a bogus price to the community average).

50cl sample from Coravin. Medium body, seems closed. Limited development after 90 min in the glass. Needs more time to develop more complex notes, seems to be in a rather early stage of evolution.

Coravin Tasting Experiment and Lunch (Morton's Steakhouse - chicago IL): Comes across as a modern styled Rioja, seemingly in a global style that I would never have thought Rioja if served blind. Ripe and fruit forward, but there is good acidity on finish. Not my favorite style. First taste of a multi year, multi wine Coravin experiment.

Sehr fruchtig; reiner Tempranillo mundet herrvorragend, verschiedene Beerennoten kommen zur Geltung
Wird mit Lagerung möglicherweise noch besser, wobei es jetzt schon ein Topwein ist.
