This is probably the best vintage of Faust Cabernet. It was long lasting and held up exceptionally well. If stored properly upon release, this wine still have a few years left in it.

I was nervous when I opened this bottle. The color seemed a bit off and it was VERY tight on the nose. However I let it decant for 30 minutes and it opened up nicely. The tannins were very smooth and it had nice red fruit with just a touch of chocolate and earthiness. This wine was well balanced and was definitely ready to drink. As with many other '02's it was very straight forward and to the point. Good, solid Napa juice and thats about it. I would not recommend more than another year in bottle as the alcohol and fruit seem to be ready to disappear.

Very smooth, velvety on the tongue. Nice texture as the tannins had mellowed. Still has some initial fruit and finish lingers. Had a good amount of sediment that need filtering/decanting. Glad we still have one more but will need to drink it in the near future.

This wine is a nice QPR. Ready to drink right now. Smooth mouthfeel with a very nice nose and tastes of pencil shavings, black fruits and a little mocha. Not terribly complex but an enjoyable wine with food. I think this is as far as these will go.

Flavors include currents, iron and pencil lead. Modest nose, but powerful, fruity mouthfeel. Young and tannic even after an hour of decanting. Long finish. Needs more time in the bottle or a longer decanting to really show through.

Cleaning and reorganizing the cellar, I came across 6 of these that I had bought on release but had yet to try. Did not take formal notes but this was one smooth drinking cab with black fruit, pencil shavings and a hint of chocolate. Seems ready to drink now and has a nice long finish.

WIML90. Consistent with the previous bottle. Throwing a little sediment so you might decant for sediment only. Drink over the short, maybe medium term.

WOW! This is one of the best Napa Cabernets from the 2002 vintage that I've tasted in the last 3 months. Made by Aaron Pott, Quintessa's winmaker, and coming from Quintessa's world class estate this is a real crowd pleaser. I'm glad I bought a case because this is a tough wine to track down. A burst of intense fruit in the nose, bold and powerful, yet elegant and concentrated. Decant for a half hour to really let this wine open up and show its structure.

Deep garnet color. Up front, earthy character to the nose. Medium sweet tannins, earth, berry/cherry, mint, plump. A ripe style of cabernet, and quite enjoyable. It was very good for a $30 bottle, however it retails for $55. I'd drink it if offered, but I don't think I'll buy it at that price.

WIML90,NOWA,NOWS Tasted February 18, 2005 at the home of WineDrinkerofTexas. Things are starting to get fuzzy right about here with the 5th bottle of the evening. Dark garnet color in the glass, clear hue throughout. Nice nose. Good fruit, tannins and acidity. Drink now with an hour in the decanter or hold for a year or two.

Not a dense Napa cab, but something rather lighter that still drank really well with our prime rib.

Great rich cab that went well with the lamb. This was ready to drink IMO and I'll have my last bottle within next couple of years.
