Despite the cork being effectively powder the wine once I filtered out the pieces was surprisingly good. Drank over the course of two nights and I think benefited from a little more air.

Eyes - medium ruby to amber ruby Nose - prune juice, earth - tumeric, vanilla, spice - cardamom Mouth - black cherry, dates, toast, alcohol - medium, acid - low +, tannins - moderate with intermediate grain and integration, finish - medium long. Comments - drinking well, will last another 5 yrs?, great value, a "RimmerMeister" (Garagiste) winner (you never really know what you are going to get).

Unique! Opened, then double-decanted after 30 minutes. Careful...lots of flaky sediment. Deep ruby color. On the nose, there are medium intensity and captivating mixed-up aromas of cardamom, turmeric, old brown sugar, black cherry pie, sesame seed. On the palate, it's dry with a light-plus body, medium-minus acidity, muted flavors that's a touch drying, fine resolved tannins, with a light charcoal-like shorter finish. The flavor is nowhere near as intriguing as the aromas as I could smell this all night! I think it will last easily 2022 and a great buy and QPR from Garagiste!

Some cork trouble, be careful next time. Found that this bottle improved after a 24 hour decant, was quite tight on initial opening. Nice tertiary flavors, much more ripe and full to me than the 2004.

Opened a second bottle, used Ahso this time to avoid cork issues. Whoever better this time. Fruit holding up, more stewed now, with earthy elements coming through. Great QPR.

AAcollection description of this wine was spot on, primary fruit has evolved, lots of secondary flavors predominantly earthy with good acidity. Opened with Ah-So based on comments.

Last bottle of six with a short decant. Still a lovely "old school" profile with earthy characteristics, tart red fruit flavors, and a little funk. Drink now.

Popped yesterday. Rustic in style, with medicinal notes and bark-inflected cherry fruit with loads of secondary. On the palate, soft, rustic tannins, good acidity, very secondary flavors of earth, dried blackberry, sweet herbal notes; nice finish. Rustic is the main word that sticks in my mind...reminds me a bit of Rasteau.

This is an interesting wine, dark, ripe fruits, showing touches of leather, earth, some funk, floral aromatics, violet, some smoke? This was a nice pairing with a pasta dish with some bacon and wilted kale, it worked well. I questioned this wine when it opened and even while it opened over time there were times it seemed to take on some basement brett, but that never dominated and I liked it more over time. This does not seem tired and could age a bit more, I think. Very nice value / interesting wine sub-$15.

Wow, opened a bottle from 3 tonight, with leftover rabbit pasta. Some reviews were not so good, but the cork came out soundly, in one piece, no corky smell. And the wine was great, sorta like a Spanish CDP. Wow, never had a Sumoll grape, so this was new. Yum!

Found the secret to getting the cork out of this wine: push it in about 1/8 in (3 mm) using the handle of a spoon or similar blunt object, then remove as usual with a wine key.
Drank this fourth bottle of six with family, and its soft, mature character was enjoyed by all. Oxidized cranberries and mulberries, humus, and a slight tingle of spices makes for an interesting profile. Lots of sediment, watch the last pour. "Very good," 88/100.

Similar issues as noted with cork. Dry and crumbling. I don't think it was related to the cork, but the wine was not good. Even after a few hours open it was just bad. Have a couple more, will see if it was an off bottle.

Difficult to identify, but then i read the composition...had not previously tasted Sumoll
Turning a little brown on rim. Earthy cherry with restrained spice on nose. Tannins a little edgy, medium length
Re notes on cork. I was fortunate enough to not have a problem, i had taken the spiral all the way down, but it was evident that a sharper or shorter spiral could have easily broken it up

Beware,my first two bottles were corked and when I say that I mean the corks disintegrated. The wine was full of micro-particles that could not be strained.... the second bottle I was able to get the cork out but giant chunks of something were immersed throughout the wine. Worst two bottles I have opened in my-life and I have four more stay away
Great acidity with tons of cherry and gravel and black fruit and licorice. Amazing value for money, and if not for the cork, this could quite happily hang around for another 3-5 years.

I personally think this bottle should still lay down for a few more years. It was still fairly tight in tannin and huge acidity with plenty of fruit left to allow it to lay down. Careful opening this bottle if you ordered through Garagiste, as my cork just crumbled when opening. Hoping this wine opens up just a little more next time I open one...in a few years.

Very interesting nose, including some of the cardamom another note picked up on. Very nice bit of tannic grip and medium-to-long finish.
