  • Woke up after an hour of air, even better a day later. Black cherry, red cherry, black raspberry, plum, damp forest, earth, smoke, and a little graphite on the nose. Tart cherry, red cherry, plum, and earth on the palate. Tart, juicy acidity, grippy tannins, med-long finish. Overall, this wine was lovely. Although I didn't drink this with a meal, it really calls for one.

  • Black raspberries, black cherries, lilies, earth, violets, cocoa powder, and smoke on the nose. Black and red cherries, cranberry, earth, plums, and cherry pit on the palate. Tart acidity, integrated tannins, medium-long finish. Nice bottle. Complex, interesting, tasty. This is very easy to drink.

  • Quickly dying, much lighter body and flavors than last year. Still a decent sipper or party wine, but time to drink up.

  • Light red color, light to medium body and flavors. Bright cherries, spices, light tannins, a bit of earth. For the price ($14) this is great QPR. Excellent wine for afternoons, parties, lunches. I suspect will be even better with more time.

  • Very good stuff. I felt that it only revealed itself with at least three hours of air. It kept revealing darker and more secondary characteristics with time. Unassailable QPR

  • Good sense of Oregon terroir on the nose, offering black cherries, churned earth and truffle with a citrus note of orange rind and a melange of baking spices. These notes and more on the palate, adding a bit of cola and cocoa powder with more sips. The wine is balanced and fairly ripe for the vintage at 13.7% alc. Excellent QPR and unbelievable steal at $15.

  • Black raspberries, plums, raspberries, cocoa powder, earth, wet forest, a little leather, and a little smoke on the nose. Sweet red and black cherries, plums, earth, and tart cherries on the palate. Nice acidity, supple tannins, medium-long finish. This comes across a bit young, but it's very enjoyable.

  • Complex nose of raspberries, black cherries, plums, forest boughs, earth, smoke, a little new leather, cocoa powder, old fashioned hand lotion, and blackberry bramble. (Really fun to smell.) Relatively light on the palate with black cherries, tart cherries, sweet red cherries, plums, earth, spice, cocoa, and a little citrus peel. Seems to evolve in the glass though. Decent acidity, good underlying structure, medium finish. The finish is not very big or long, but it's really pleasant. Overall, I like this wine a lot. It's not as approachable or concentrated as the 2010, but there's a lot going on. It made me crave some salmon. 89+
Additional note: Left it on the counter overnight, and the next day it seemed to have more focus and a little less complexity. Just pure black and red cherries, plum, earth, and cocoa. Just beautiful. I actually started thinking about when to open the next one.
