  • Veldig deilig vin som vi drakk sammen med Rønnaug og Nils til pizza og Tapas. Jeg tror at vi må kjøpe flere av denne flasken.

  • 12.8% abv. Screwcap closure. Grenache: 88% Syrah: 12% Whole bunch. Mellow with ripe fruit and just a hint of pepper. Tastes like it might be higher in alcohol than the 12.8% indicated on the label. Slight tartness but pleasant--tart cherry, fine tannins. Slight sediment in the final glass. I have one bottle remaining.

  • Very light red. Elegant red berry fruit with cinnamon, shezchuan pepper, earthy funk and hints of cherry. Delicious earthy berry fruit flavours and a fuzzy dry finish.

Could improve a bit but delicious now. More old world then new.

  • A very interesting and unique wine; This is fairly light-bodied, with an elegant core of red berries, florals and earth tones, with snappy acidity on the finish; I would have preferred a touch more mid-palate depth and presence, but I nonetheless still enjoyed this

  • Funky wine. Give time for air to open the wine up. Its a different style but quite good if you are open to it.

  • Such a unique wine. Super unfiltered throwing lots of funky sediment. Bright cherries that are straight up dirty - funky and definitely not for the faint of heart. Enjoy the Ochota style and this is a great entry level way to see if it's your bag.

  • Yikes the reviews compared to the 2013 are night and day. This one does have some tartaric precipitate, which is odd for a red, but just means it wasn't cold-stabilized. Nothing to do with color or taste as previous review mentions. It is a lighter style, and only 12.8%abv.

The wine is earthy and complex, pleasantly funky at times. The texture manages to be quite lush and rich, but instead of gobs of fruit I get baked blueberry and damp earth, and also some lemon-grass and black pepper.
I like it, it's definitely not the Australia I grew up with ha! Good food wine. Not the best QPR, especially if you are expecting Australia as usual.

  • When you hold the bottle up to the light, it looks very pale and rosé like. That's what made me buy it, thinking it would be a less extracted style. Turns out the glass is clear, which is unusual. The colour is actually deep and only a little transparent.
The wine itself has an overly sweet aroma. There's a hint of moscato fruit and something like passionfruit soda on the nose. Carbonic? Hmm. Well I'd like to know, but the producer's website doesn't tell me anything about the wines. But if you're curious to know what sort of Volkswagen they drove on a surf trip to California, the website will be very useful for you.

On the palate, oh boy... What a mess. Very sharp acidity with a candyish sweet core and a short, extremely bitter finish. The website says "a labyrinth of flavour, texture and emotion" - what a load of pretentious rubbish.
Extremely overrated and over-priced wine. I actually returned it and got my money back. And I was looking forward to this. A major dissapointment.

  • Loads of tartaric acid crystalline sediment sitting at the base. The colour rose red and luminous, sweet to taste and explains the acid crystals in the bottom of the bottle which near end made impossible to drink. Disappointed given the normal standard of Taras Ochota.
