Vintage 2012 Tasting: pale gold impressively powerful palate, richness, well integrated flavours, no real sign of any herbal characters, more citrus fruits and honey, lemons and grapefruit, blossoms, hints of toast. Lively acid, years ahead.

Under diam. In a perfect place right now. Quite a broad fruit profile on the nose and palate, ranging from cooler citrus through to orchard fruits, driven by a nice acidic line. On the palate there is some vanilla shortcrust which is framed by lithe minerality that makes this very moreish. A lovely drink that leans more to the Loire that Marlborough.

Mount Mary New Release Tasting: Vanilla and toast with orange and grapefruit. Quite rounded on the palate, with the ripeness of the fruit coming through. Some punchy acidity brings it back nicely. Good length, a little more texture and this would be really impressive.

Interesting wine. While there are some tropical notes in the background, this is more about grapefruit pith, chalky minerality and a hint of cut grass. Given that flavour profile, I was expecting something more steely on the palate. However, this was quite round and almost buttery, making me think this has had some lees stirring. It retains enough acidity to keep the wine in check. Ready to drink now.
