Medium tannins. Fun upfront, shorter on the finish but still enjoyable. Herbal, a bit of kirsch, forest floor bramble, leather. Definitely crack soon, getting toward the end of cellaring.

- Brick color - Bitter tobacco flavor on opening, gone after a 3 hour decant. Well balanced and drinking well. Probably getting near the latter part of its drink window.

I have been a member of Larkmead for a number of years. I just bought this from the site, a special offering that is rare. This wine is definitely the remnants of their better wines, a second wine if you will... the nose is graphite, stone and some black fruit. The fruit forward wine is heavily extracted and bears a hint of spice at the onset. It is typical Larkmead which is cassis, oak and plum, with hints of black fruit, leather and stone. The mid palette is creamy and balanced and the finish is reasonably long. It is a good wine, in the back of the line behind the vineyards better offerings. Drink it now or wait no longer than a couple more years.

Popped and poured and drank 1/2 bottle. Sour notes noticeable and non complementary to steak dinner. Drank balance next evening and bitterness gone and much more enjoyable. 91-92 on night one, and 94 on night two. Best to decant and let sit for several hours before consuming.

Cassis, plums, red fruit, and a hint of cedar on the palate. Medium tannins with nice acidity and cherry and dark berries on the palate. Nice finish. A beautiful entry level Napa Cab. Wife: 93

Tannins, robust. Nary a detail of fruit on the front but still generous, smooth. Quite masculine, green Cabernet.

Last bottle..of probably a case or more... makes me sad as I want more. Exceptionally example of the 2012 greatness.
Black fruit , blue fruit, cedar, cassis, layered spice, complexity, candied fruit, finishes smooth. A

Cassis, pencil lead, blackberry, black cherry, tobacco. Medium-plus body. Medium acidity. Light, velvety tannins. Fruity nose. Medium-long finish. I don’t think it’s necessarily going to improve more, but no rush either.

Not overly complex, and a shortish finish, but bright fruit on the palate, and a delicious blend.
