Solid effort, but not amazing. Smells kind of tight with a bit of sulphur on the nose which muted the nose a bit. Not nearly as rich as the 2009 Jakob Schneider Magnus Trocken that I had just before this. Kind of an angular wine.

This wine just seems to be coming into its own. It was best after an hour's aeration when it had warmed up a bit. Quite dry and spicey on the palate with a long, pleasing finish. Very pleasing. I'm sure it will improve further with additional years of bottle age.

I need to check the vintage on this because our impressions are not similar to the other notes here. I found this to have quite a bit of fruit, with a creamy, almost oily mouth feel. Some petrol and slate notes to accent that wine. A touch of salinity and a fair amount of acid. My only knock on the wine is that I think it could use just a little more acid. We enjoyed the wine. I am going to check to make sure it wasn't the 13 vintage instead.

Pretty aromatics, though a touch thin on the palate - though by no means watery. The aromatics are bright and floral with ripe orchard fruit and some stony notes emerging with more air, and it's lively on the palate with bright acids lifting the fruit flavours, though the middle feels a bit thin, although never austere. Didn't like this as much as the '13 Sommerberg, but still it's quite decent at the price.

Bottom line - I was not at all impressed by this wine. There are some positive aspects to it, notably the very pretty white flowers and peach aromatics. The finish is also nice, with those floral and fruit aspects making another appearance. The problem is the palate - it has zero impact. The start and mid-palate are extremely watery, and it's only on the finish that there is any hint of flavor. This has all the hallmarks of a badly over-cropped wine, though I have no information to confirm or refute that. It's just a simple, dry and lightweight drink that should cost $7.99 instead of $25.

Similar impressions as the last bottle from about a year ago. Solid, but lacking a little energy.

Pretty good...solid Riesling nose and decent palate, although a tad more acidic than might have been ideal....87-89

Ann loved it. I thought it could use a little more acid. Nice otherwise.
