Wow. I finally opened up one of these Rosenthal (importer) Red Burgs that was ready to drink, and it sang all night (it did not sing the next day but I didn't use any gas). I don't know much about Georges Lignier but I'll buy anything Neal Rosenthal imports.
FYI: there was mold on the top of the cork if you are allergic. So I opened it up ASAP and threw away the cork.

Medium red with a bit of brown at the edges. After a couple hours in a carafe, this has opened nicely and presents red fruit (cranberry, raspberry) and floral notes to the nose with a hint of forest floor. The flavors echo the nose over medium acidity and soft tannins. The three are in moderate balance with acidity taking a lead over the other two. There is a medium-long finish. An elegant, approaching sophisticated, offering from Georges Lignier et Fils.

First bottle for me from this producer; on the nose this was ripe and polished with lovely red berry fruits and hints of spice; with air there were some more mineral notes and even a hint of sauvage; the palate was very polished, but has good balance and good depth. My initial impression was that this was quite tasty, though it did strike me as a bit new world and blind I may have guessed this as an Eyrie pinot noir from Dundee, with air however, it seemed to come into its own a bit. The wine is overall very good, however this is probably not a producer you want to look for if you are wanting a really traditional type Burgundy. Still I enjoyed it and would probably buy it again.

New Burgundy Releases-Mostly 2012s (Beltramo's, Menlo Park): Light red with some brown at the rim. Fragrant mix of raspberry and herbs. Light to medium weight, flavors of red fruit and herbs as the nose suggests, supple, low acidity, and a veneer of oak. Recognizable as Chambolle but too green for my taste.

A very dusty nose, nice fruit on the palate. Improved in the glass

Wonderful nose, slight bitterness which lowers the score for me.

Red. Forthcoming ripe red fruit aromatics. Lovely ripe strawberry and earth, medium weight, not great precision.
