A gift from friends, I was not expecting much, especially since I knew it was a newspaper "Club" wine. Turned out to be very good. Equal parts cab, merlot, sang. and syrah, made in modern fruit-forward style. Lacks acidity levels I normally expect in Italian wines, but well-balanced. Moderate complexity with some spice, mocha, dark berry fruit. Easy-drinking and very good value.

For a blend this wine started out quite simple, and turned into something ultimately tasty ... Probably why I am intrigued by so many Sicilian wines. The nose kicks things off with a little smoky mocha and plum. On the palate there's a certain creaminess, that's quite welcome with hints of a cafe mocha on the finish along with a gentle spice, and rounding it all off is this salty/sweet kinda nuance. As the evening wears on it develops more of a ripe dark berry flavour, making everything nice and full-bodied. After an hour the finish has evolved into a vanilla-cinnamon and creme-de-cassis finish and linger; yet another bottle I have enjoyed from "The Club".

Notably, I'm not personally a huge fan of black pepper taste in wines, but this one was in enough moderation (probably because of the even 4-way blend) that I actually liked it

If you like wine Kool-aid, you’ll love this!
For a $13 wine with non-wine people you will have brought the WOTN. Zero character and very sweet.

Overall good wine. Dark purple color with a savory aroma. Good taste with predominant cherry and pepper flavor. Nice finish.

I had pretty low expectations, but after this breathed for a while it was pretty solid; fruity, firm, some character; very good value.

Loads of fruit but smooth and long finish. Not overly sweet.
