  • Sad. Kept a bottle hoping for good bottle variation. No such luck. Bad nose (TCA, bacteriological issues?); odd flavor and finish. Bought on sale from WTSO, usually a good source. 2012 Domaine des Monts Luisants Morey St. Denis 1er Cru Les Monts Luisants

  • 2012 Domaine des Monts Luisants Morey St. Denis 1er Cru Monts-Luisants ($50 in 2014). Light-mid ruby, brick edges; odd red fruit nose; herbaceous, flawed, stinky, TCA (?); mid-body; awful flavor to match the nose. 13 UC Davis score, 82 other scales. First time I tasted it. Bought four bottles. Will seek a refund.

  • I assume this is what aspartame or some other industrial sweetener smells and tastes like. Undrinkable. Did someone pour meiomi in this bottle of Burgundy?

  • Tried to go into tasting this with an open mind, because I'd seen the notes others had left on this wine. After an hour in the decanter, the nose immediately smelled off before I even tried tasting. The taste was absolutely nowhere close to how a premier cru pinot should taste. I can't tell if the wine was ruined in the winemaking process or if it was some kind of cork taint (there were no signs around of the capsule of it being cooked).

A friend purchased it on WTSO and they're going to try to get their money back. Sounds like maybe the entire lot of this wine is bad. Do not buy, and if you've been holding it waiting for something special, I'd say open it and hope your bottle is good - but don't waste any storage space with this bottle.

  • This wine was terrible. I've been saving this one for a decent occasion assuming that it was a well-made, not bottom dollar priced Burgundy. WRONG.

Add insult to injury, imagine the embarrassment of buying 4 of these at $55 a pop...FROM WTSO...around the holidays in 2015, and giving 3 out to business colleagues as Christmas gift?? I hope everyone already drank them and have erased the experience of this wine from their memory...because that's the only thing that is keeping me from crawling under my desk right now writing this ridiculous tasting note!

I will be attempting to get a hold of WTSO and ask them how something this terrible/maybe flawed could get into their distribution network?? This makes me not want to to ever give WTSO my business at risk of getting something from them with no QC. Not sure about making any purchases there anymore.

I'm giving this a ridiculous low score instead of even considering hitting the flawed box so that when people look this wine up then they will get turned off by the low CT user score. Hopefully someone with some clout reads this and sends this up some wine info chains to someone who matters (or cares hah).

What a waste of money, and an embarrassment.

  • Very distracting funky smell at open and off-putting taste. Left decanted for several days and did not dissipate. May be flawed. Have 4 more bottles.

  • Lots of funk on the nose. Too much in my opinion - distracting. The acidity was good and there was an underlying distinctiveness that was attractive. I left the bottle corked for a day after having the first half glass and it was more balanced and enjoyable on Day 2. I noted that the acidity and fruit had faded somewhat along with the funk, however, so that doesn't suggest a long life in the cellar. I'd say: drink soonish with a few hours of decant to walk the middle road.

  • Light color. The shows pungent herbs, red raspberries, minerals and hints of flowers. This is medium light bodied on the palate with decent concentration and good finesse. The medium length finish features rustic tannins.

  • Bottle was flawed, disappointing given the price. I have more to try, but am worried about how that will go...
