Cherry, currant and tobacco. Red fruit and raspberry in mouth. American oak/cedar. Tannins melow, acid integrated. Nice finish. Ate with spicy Cajun sausage and pasta.

I thought this wine would be richer with more body, but overall it was quite nice. I would buy it again. No hint of oak and the tannins seem to be integrated. I tasted a mix of earth and peppery spices with a dash of olive oil.

(14%) 100% Tempranillo – Warm, black fruits with silky tannins and the perception of acidity. As it unfurls you get a warm, comforting, vanilla (barrel) spiced finish that lingers on… This wine goes on and on and given it checks in at ~$20 retail that is a fair value. As for me I am loving Rioja as of late. Perhaps time to start building a cellar soon! 88+ points
Wine Geek Notes: Monte Real is a single vineyard designation

Grei til nakkekoteletter - ingen lagringsvin, må dekanteres og kan brukes til saus!

Very fresh, cherry with a touch of sour cherry tartness. Not as interesting as this bodegas' 2001 Gran Reserva, but worthwhile.

God vin til Lasagne. Lett og fruktig, men med noe tyngde.
