A solid lightish burg. Fairly tight - as in unrevealing - with tart one-dimensional fruit - both nose & taste. Very nice but not stellar. I will leave my last bottle for a few more years to see if it opens more.

Having just sent back a previous bottle I was reluctant to do the same with this one, which was awful too. Not obviously corked, and had a very distinct bouquet of smoke and pine needles; intriguing at first but offensive after half a glass. Thin mouth feel with slightly unbalanced acidity and a bricky aftertaste. I left most of the bottle. Such a shame after 8 years of cellaring and a trip around the world...

Ordered this at PLAY in Ottawa. Very nice wine to start the small plate menu. Light, floral with red fruit. A little bit of heat - we didn't decant and it is still young. Went will with most of the food. Would like to come back to this in a few years.

Thin, red, with pale edges. Hints of spice, dried flowers, and a touch of heat on the nose (though the bottle only states 13% ALC). Deep, slightly rich, but still elegant. Light, but nicely floral on the palate, and also a bit of green flavor. This wine has soft, drying, lingering tannins that slowly constrict during its long finish.
Still an infant, but a nice wine. Not exactly what I expected- less earthy and more rich.

There will be some blatant acts of infanticide over the ensuing weeks but none worse than this I suspect, a wine that is at least 20 years from its peak. Aromatically speaking this was fresh, pure and quite captivating. Lovely perfume of purple flowers intermingling with blood plum and dark cherry fruits. There are some meat, earth and iron notes lurking just below the surface. In the mouth it is dense, powerful and sweet with great definition but the structural elements kick in early and hard to make their presence felt. This wine is sort of like a Tom Waits or Nick Cave song… confronting and raw at first but given time elements of beauty will become more apparent.

Awful. No fruit at all.

No notes, except drank with tapas dinner at one of the finest restaurants in Ottawa, Ontario (Beckta Dining & Wine). The restaurant gets a 95.
