Medium purple. With minimal garnet. After an hour the smooth was dominant. Not complex but well balanced. Good for another year. Still very large for 12 year Syrah.

Soft and approachable. Expressive nose of blue fruits. Nice intensity on the palate - fruit-forward and plush. Kind of like blueberry cobbler with vanilla ice cream. Persistent finish.

Ruby red in color with notes of red berries, especially cherries and blueberries. Fruity on the palate, mellow tannins and a medium finish with hints of earth and spice. A medium bodied wine with a hint of warmth on the finish.

Not decanted, consumed over ~1 hour. Should have looked at my notes on our 1/9 experience before opening this. With less airtime, we never really got beyond the closed, spicy phase, and didn't enjoy this as much previous bottles. Still fine, but I need to remember that this needs air...chalk this one up to user error.

Not decanted, consumed over ~2 hours. This started off a little closed and maybe slightly reductive, then showed mostly stewed fruit for a little while, and finally after an hour plus of air came into its own. Black cherry and plum/prune fruit with additional notes of coffee, cocoa, and a whiff of smoked meat. Slightly rustic structure (which I don't mind) and a medium-plus body. Really like this garnacha at the price point.

Not decanted, consumed over 2+ hours. Consistent with previous notes - dark, ripe, tart cherry/berry fruit with forward acidity, background notes of cured meat and something like woodsmoke, noticeable but non-intrusive tannins.

Medium ruby in color. Red fruit forward, sweet spice, with hints of tobacco and licorice on the nose. Fruity on the palette with a balance of minerality, oak, and gritty tannins. The fruity sweetness lingers with a finish of peppery spice. This is a great wine for the price.

Not decanted, consumed over 1 1/2 hours. Medium+ weight, dark red/black fruit and hints of licorice & wood with good acid & slightly gritty tannins. Maybe a little on the simple side, but tasty & satisfying stuff, especially for the price.

Not decanted, consumed over ~3 hours. Aside from this bottle having (I think) a hint of VA which detracted at first, this was pretty consistent with our 6/26/2014 note. By the last pours of the bottle, the acidic tingle had lessened, and we were mostly back to the expected notes of dark concentrated fruit, peppery spice, and just a hint of smoked/cured meat were there. At $11, quite a good QPR, and we'll be picking up more.

Tasted at a Robert Parker event with Louis Gutierrez. Medium ruby. Nose of red fruit with white pepper and sweet spices. On the palate nice and fruity, medium bodied with good freshness and aromatics. Very nice example of a Grenache that has balance and can go well with food.

Not decanted, consumed over two evenings. Like the 2010, this strikes me as a bottle which, while maybe not possessing great depth, is quite good for the price point. Dark berry fruit with an inky edge, hints of spice, oak, and cured meat which came and went, good concentration and acid, balanced but noticeable tannin, a little bit of heat. Drinking young and seems a little simple at the moment, but pleasing and seems to have some potential for improvement as it comes together in the next couple years. 88+

I am pleasantly surprised with this wine. For only $11, I would have passed on it, had it not been for a recommendation from a friend. The wine, once opened, improves the longer it's out. Did not decant. Surprisingly smooth and filled with spices, a hint of tobacco and oak, and berries. The tannins could be more mellow, but at this price, can't complain much. 14% alcohol, so it gets hot. Overall, I'm impressed.

Medium dark ruby pink. Nose of floral accented cherry and raspberry, and palate showing red fruit with touches of Jolly Rancher candy, vanilla, and oak. Pleasant finish with a touch of stone. Solid buy at about 11 dollars. Remained pleasant, without showing much oxidation, at 3 days open.

At a UK price of £8.49 (Majestic Wine) this cannot be beaten as a quite excellent everyday drinking wine. Spain seems to be the place for value right now.

Very decent wine this. In fact, one of the best <£10 bottles I've ever had. Smooth, textured and ripe. Well balanced. Fruit is pungent and vibrant, with some really nice darker flavours of meat and smoke. This is drinking great now. Pop, pour and enjoy.

Slight candied note which bothers me, otherwise quite nice and perhaps a 90 - 91.
