1hr decant. Dark red/purple color. Nose had chocolate, oak, and dark fruit. Wine seemed just past prime. Herbs, honey, and cherries on the palate. Paired nicely with Porchetta. Medium finish. Quite nice.

A great Merlot, very balanced, dark fruit, spices, nice finish. Used this at a large wine tasting for casual drinkers at my wife's Garden Club (50 attendees) to educate them on "fine wine" and we did a blind tasting against Barefoot Merlot. I didn't ask which one was better but which one they thought was the fine wine. About 80% got it right. Lots of fun. Some still liked the Barefoot which is okay because a good wine is one you like!

Really digging this wine and as one taster put it "it's a Merlot that drinks like a Cab". Excellent depth on the nose with tar, berries, crushed herbs and a smooth long finish.

Love this wine. A bit muscular and overpowering on first sip but integrates nicely with 30 mins of air. At 60 minutes in, it becomes a knockout. Also, seems to be in its sweet spot at 6 years.

Prune, Blackberry, black cherry, vanilla, dark chocolate, pie crust, sandalwood, menthol. Good intensity, med + body, balanced tannins, pleasant mouthfeel. Drinks more like a Cab. Long finish.

From Regusci: The 2012 Regusci Estate Merlot exudes a dense concentrated blend of macerated maraschino cherries and raspberries and as the wine opens up, the aromatics are further supported by layers of dark chocolate, roasted coffee beans and cedar. On the palate, the wine shows great fruit intensity with a bold structure that is very well integrated. Enjoy now or age five to ten years.

Was happy to have this wine finally hitting its stride. More nuanced and balanced than earlier tastings.

An absolutely wonderful wine that got better and better as the night progessed. When Merlot is done right it yields immense satisfaction. Bravo.

Perhaps starting to age into a really good wine. Perhaps still young.

It needed time to open up, but beautiful dark fruit and cigar toward the end of the bottle. Glad we have 5 more as this needs more time in the cellar.

Big structured merlot and very tightly wound. This will be very good in a couple of years but really too early to drink now.
