Not real balanced and likely past it's prime. The fruit is quite big with some spice on the back end. Dry mouthfeel with oak mid palate. It kind of drank more like a Merlot.

Crimson to ruby, medium legs. Aromas of strawberry, cranberry, raspberry, sour cherry, mushroom, forest floor, light toast, cedar, vanilla, cinnamon, clove, Herbes de Provence; faint garrigue and green olive. On the palate, sour fruit and spices dominate. Medium body, polished texture. Medium finish; acidity medium to medium-plus. Overall impression: varietally correct, solidly balanced. At $17, QPR is average for domestic wine, but below average if compared to Chilean PNs. Drink now or in 2019.

Decanted 45 minutes prior to pairing with grilled pork loin steak chops. Lots of sediment, mostly tartrate crystals, initially a medium bright ruby in the glass, with an initial nose of strawberry, red alpine currant, rhubarb, pomegranate and considerable funk. High-toned and quite acidic initially. However, after 1 hour the funk largely blew off, the color deepened, the nose became much more reticent, and much more simple on the palate. Still excellent acidity, which bodes well for aging, this is probably simply too young at the moment. Will follow other bottles over time.

A well-proportioned Pinot indicative of the AVA, with good fruit and enough acidity to keep it going for a few years more.

Opened up after a couple hours. Nice complexity, flavor profile and mouthful of enjoyable central coast pinot noir. Great value.
