Mature wine that is velvety on the mouth with hints of lavender and earth. Ready to drink now but holding onto another bottle to see how it is in a year or two.

This is just classic now with lovely flavors of black fruits and slate minerals. Silky and quite fine with a lovely layered finish showing notes of licorice and garrigue spices. Yum!

Interesting nose of dusty black fruits and slate minerals. Delicious flavors of black raspberry fruit, garrigue spice, slate minerals and coal dust. Quite smooth and layered with dusty, raspy tannins on the finish along with notes of charcoal and coal dust. Not particularly complex but really authentic aged Gigondas.

This is still lean but it has aged quite well and now sports delicious flavors of black raspberry fruit, coal dust and smooth tannins. The finish is grippy with a fine dusty complexity along with notes of garrigue spices and tar. A well-made, traditional Gigondas and a very good success for the vintage.

Strange, in a good way. Starts off with an amazing almost Ribena-like blackcurrent nose and taste that I wouldn’t place in Gigondas , at all. But that soon opens out to a more classical Gigondas, fruit to the fore. Some herbs, mint and rosemary perhaps. Incredible evolution.
Day 2. This has evolved into a “reference” for Gigondas. It has everything. Dark fruits, well integrated tannin and a lovely freshness. Probably 91-92.

This was actually so much better the second day with lovely flavors of black raspberry fruit along with hints of garrigue and slate. Finishes grippy and still tannic with notes of smokey minerals and coal dust. This wine keeps improving...

Lovely fresh Gigondas. Red fruit dominated. Clean finish. A little mint ? Not thick and chunky, not stewed, just purity of fruit. Drinking very well now.
Update. 5 hours after opening this has gained a more tannin and slightly peppery edge. Lovely development.

Intense red fruit, lavender, sage nose. On the palate is sweet red fruit, herby with mint. Soft tannins and moderate acidity make this enjoyable as a PnP now.

Stunning nose of blackcurrants with a surprisingly sweet, cherry fruits palate - medium bodied. Fine but not as earthy or chunky as I would have liked.

This is getting better as it ages. Really traditional Gigondas with dark fruit flavors and notes of charcoal, minerals and garrigue. There is a nice thickness to the texture along with proper acidity and freshness. 88+

Medium-bodied, fragrant, showing plenty of sweet fruit upfront and, most importantly, a great foil for a massive hunk of hanger steak. As always, consistently one of the best examples of Gigondas.

Lovely balance and sweetness, glossy cherries, orange zest, finely grained tannins, spicy depth, very good length.

Crouch End Crew (Crouch End Cellars): Fresh, spicy and fragrant on the nose. Rounded and nicely developed on the palate, with plenty of cassis.
