Oh what a bottle - memories from the cellar door, some gorgeous fruit, but also disappointment and unrealised potential. The nose is gorgeous, slightly sweet black fruits with just a touch of violets, olive and oak spice. Rather dark and robust meniscus too. The palate shows very lovey fruit, just a touch of blueberry sweetness, but not jammy or confected - think the more elegant side of McLaren Vale. Unfortunately things start to unwind. Not a terrible amount of depth of complexity beyond this point and the structure is utterly absent. Acidity is ok, but the near lack of tannin gives this a very flabby feel. Each sip brings substantial pleasure from the fruit, with disappointment on the finish. Clealry we still had fun drinking this as the hope that things might knit together over the two hours of drinking led to an empty bottle, but it's not one to keep.

We are loving this cooler Cali site Syrah. Nice notes of pepper, red meat juice, and a bit of green olive. I really would like to hang on to our last 3 bottles as I believe this will progress well in the cellar. Delicious and a steal from Last Bottle.

Except for the color tinting slightly toward purple instead of crimson red this could pass for a SRH Pinot. Delicious and bracing red fruit (cherry and cranberry) with hints of blueberry and spice. The nose presents a typical toasty oak PN bouquet. Deep and silky with great acidic balance. Looking forward to the next and would buy more at $20/per. We've had some Last Bottle duds lately; this one restored our fandom.

Lompoc Wine Ghetto Tastings: Aromas of violet, black cherry, cassis and bacon fat. Deep, yet bright, black fruit and savory notes throughout the palate. Elegant texture with full tannins. Mineral notes on the finish. Fell depth. Excellent.

Pleasant fruit flavor, mild aroma. Balanced acidity. Lacks depth, seems one dimensional. Lacks complexity. Better on day 2.
