Drank both bottles with family. This wine showed much more balance and structure than the 1999, for sure, but still was a bit too light for some. Ripe cherries, and light plum -- very enjoyable to my taste. Definitely needs to be drunk now.

Very tart, almost sour upon opening. Opened up a bit after an hour. Still has a green streak running through along with some tobacco, sour cherries and boysenberry. A little too much oak for me. I don't see this developing much more.

Inky, opaque purple hue. Dense friuit aroma. Silky mouthfeel, pleasant dark cassis and currant palate, decent length. Nice surpise from a wine I never heard of before, and a gift no less. Made by Dunham Cellars.

This was pretty good - couple of years aging did it proud. Colour starting to fade, definite hints of brick. Nose was quite complex, some wood, floral elements, tobacco, not much fruit. Palate was very smooth, nicely dry with goodmouthfeel -some plum, cherry fruit, but also tobacco and juicy cherry, cola, blueberry notes. Complex and quite tasty - excellent both in and with a mushroom, chorizo risotto.

Over the hill. There are still some soft red berries left on the palate but tannins are all gone and the acid is a bit on the high side.

Drank nicely but definitely at peak. Does not need decanting. Strong berry flavor, typical Bordeaux blend.

This one was over the hill...dusty, thin and with little fruit. Bitter aftertaste.

Wretched. Definitely an off-bottle. Probably why Dunham included it as one of their Library wine club selections

Really nice wine. Not too fruity. Lots of flavor, though. Cut through the richness of brisket.
