  • This was sailing, with a heady reduced nose with lemon meringue, peach skin, white flowers in bloom, chalk, perfectly ripe apples. Seamless and silky on the palate, finely tuned acidity, long finish. Joyful and in an excellent place now although no problem aging another 4-5 years. At Blair's, EWG 2002 retrospective.

  • This was killer. lovely developing nose with yellow flowers, some reduction, good length, great balance, kiss of oak, in great shape now. 92+. Adrien's bday

  • Darker yellow-gold; slightly blanched almond notes with mellon rind and peach pit at its core; got better as it warmed up but this has just the slightest oxidation but barely noticeable and actually fruit is coming out pretty nicely now after 25-30 minutes. Wet marly chalky minerality, soft smooth entry, medium acid attack with nice tang in the finish. Not precise or complex, lacks dynamics. Like a beautiful model that's left herself go, and dressed in mom jeans. At 9 years should still be a tad fresher. Still, quite enjoyable. What happened b/w 2015 and now (last time I had this)? Excellent with 365 cheddar cheese popcorn. 90-91.

Update: this was coravined and just poured another glass on 4/14/21 and was sailing. Really good, rich puligny chard fruit, touch peach pit, yellow flowers, baby fat texture, good tangy lifted finish. Maybe the coravin gave it a smidgen of air and helped this breathe and relax a little bit?

  • Tight as a drum, and a bit too cold; as it warmed up it showed lots of rocky minerality, lemon and underripe peach, melon rind; exceptionally acidic, a bit sharp right now. Opened up nicely but still a bit austere, vanilla oak/pie crust showing up a bit--not quite integrated. This needs time but has good bones.
