  • I'm not getting the Cabernet fruit in this. The nose is cedar and coconut and the palate is at best mid weight with coconut milk chocolate and dried out stressed savory fruit. Its not a great length finish either. How this got its plastering of medals I don't know what the judges were thinking or drinking. Its not on my buy list at any price..

  • Clear with a medium ruby colour. Clean nose of a medium plus bouquet with notes of blackcurrant/cassis, a truly prominent mint note, the Coonawarra hallmark reinforced by the Clare fruit. Milk chocolate, cedar, spice and vanilla accompany the dominant notes. The wine is dry, full bodied with high alcohol, medium plus tannin that just builds with every sip, medium acidity and a pronouced palate intensity. Powerful blackcurrant fruit with a cranberry tinge, chocolate, cedar, profound mintiness, spice, vanilla amd a violet edge. The finish is long, blackcurrant, mint and extended by the tannin. Can drink now but could definitely do with some time. Lamb chops or roast would go well with it in its current young state.
