Red dark colour, a bit hot boiled fruit in nose. The focus is on easy drinking wine with power. I find the wine a bit boring compared to their top normal pinotage. But well made and most people would like it. Is mature now but will last 2-3 more years. An ok introduction to pinotage but I miss a bit of the normal pinotage kick

Ah yes, Pinotage! Kanonkop is really the big guys when it comes to Pinotage, and they know how to do it right. I've never tried their Kadette line before, so this is exciting.
Mature on the nose, leather, blackberries, ripe stone fruits. It's silky smooth on the palate, with more leather, smoked paprika, still powerful tannins, and a great ripe fruitiness.
I think this is a steal. I hadn't expected this much from it, but it's peaking right now, and will continue to do so over the next year or 5.

A bit less fruit driven than I remember the 2012 to be. Well balanced, fresh, spicy with notes of dark and red fruit. Approachable and uncomplicated. 87-89

100 % Pinotage.
Nose: Buttermilk, burnt tar, boiled fruit, tobacco, plum, dark berries.
Palate: Slightly bitter and unbalanced.
Well, I might need to aim a little higher to find an approachable Pinotage. This one was more special than delicious.
