Slo-oxed for 15 minutes, but this wine showed better after 30 - 40 minutes. A bright deep purple in the glass, with attractive dark cherry aromas. The medium bodied palate showed the dark cherry, along with other dark red fruits, some earth, and some spice. The acidity was balancing, and the tannins completely integrated. Not your Argentinian, much less French, Malbec. Enjoyable for what it is and will probably hold for a few years.

A friend's bottle. Big and spicy with velveteen oak typical of CSM but in this case it doesn't erase all the varietal character. I'd balk at the $38 shelf price but the 50% employee discount, it's well worth a second look.

This wine needs a few years to develop, but then will be great. When I first opened and poured, the color, body, and aromas were lovely but the tannins were very hard. I left it for a day and it smoothed out. Deep purple color, full bodied, rich dark fruit, hints of smoke and tobacco.

Just released so first impressions of three vineyard (CR, C CK, IW) offering; leather and tar on nose Smooth, firm tannins, mineral and many layers of fruit Sort of an old style Cahors but with good, ripe fruit

Initially all spice and fruit. Texture smooth and vanillin lifted by a touch of acid. Leather only appeared well into meal
With asiago and camembert, the black and leather characteristics emerged in full forc

Soft and enjoyable, easy drinking
Downside is that the softness does not convince that there is much development potential

More mineral and earthiness than leather
Lots of spice throughout - reminds of syrah tones

Drank on Thanksgiving. Ripe and flabby (gloopy?) similar to a mid tier Aussie Shiraz.
