Burgundy color with a bouquet and flavor of raspberries, strawberries, and smoke with Pinot Noir spiciness in the finish. Good balance and nuance with a fairly long finish. All in all a lovely wine. Brewer-Clifton Pinot Noirs are very much identifiable compared with other California Pinot Noirs and the Santa Rita wines are some of the best.

No proper notes, new world - nose is oak and strawberry jam, some darker like blackberrie, quite opulent and typical new world. High alcohol which takes me to usa. Very integrated alcohol. Concentrated and intense, keep. Outstanding quality 93p

One of the best Pinot Noir's I've had. Exceptional rendition of the the fruit that comes from Sta. Rita Hills. Great cohesion, powerful yet elegant. Whiffs of wild strawberry coupled with boysenberry. Defined flavors of spice, loamy earth and the return of the berries. Ends with slight spice and roses. Great balance of acidity and tannins. Marvelous wine.

"As Good As It Gets" - a wonderful movie starring Jack Nicholson but also a description the 2013 Hapgood Pinot is worthy of. This is a brilliant expression of this varietal. The wine expresses clean, lovely cool fruit a lot of power but still on the elegant side, vivid minerals, orange zest, a whiff of strawberry adjoined by elegant boysenberry. The palate adds balance and integration, the latter likely to improve with time. Still all components, tannins and acidity, are perfectly balanced albeit a bit expressive at the time. Overall impression is certainly positive. This is a marvellous wine for sure!

Incredible depth and complexity. Paired magnificently with coq au vin. No sign of peaking.
