Pear, nuttiness, and oak on the bouquet. In a weighty and oxidative style, and lighter on acid than its energetic stablemate. A rock solid effort, if a touch disjointed.

I have become quite fond of this wine though unfortunately the winemakers have retired from making wine apparently. Such a nice old vines Chenin. Texture like a good chard, but more minerals and a pear/orchard fruit profile and a touch of nectarine. Delicious with a little air and drinking great with 5 years of age. May age well too...?

Was curious about this and bought it on a whim, probably paid too much by at least a few dollars. Nevertheless, a worthwhile try....light lemon yellow color but much weightier in your mouth. The nose is very restrained throughout with just some stony minerality and honeysuckle. On the palate it is chewy, with minerals, flint, grilled white nectarine, huge acidity and white flowers. I think this would need a long time in the cellar to fully come into its own. Served blind it would be very hard to distinguish this from a fine Vouvray.

Similar to their other old vines bottling. Great structure and very much like a Loire Chenin blanc.

Easy drinking summer wine on a hot day. Not overtly sweet, pear, citrus, floral, bright and refreshing.
