Aged well. Was at or near peak and not in decline. Some funk on the nose at first made me wonder if it was flawed, but that dissipated quickly. Big bodied: dark fruit, berries, molasses, vanilla. Reminded me a little of an Aussie fruit bomb. Tannins were resolved. Good bottle of wine that I bought when I liked bigger wines than I do now. Has aged better than other priorats I've tried. Definitely drink now.

This time around, I kind of like this. A bit Robitussin-like though. But then again, I was the kid who never minded taking Robitussin. Schisty and Ben's right, brett.
Spain (Waterford Wine Co., Milwaukee): blue to black fruit in the nose. again, almost a lemon-limey sort of a thing going on. very checked use of brett in the nose. red liquorice and medicinal cherry. priorat, 100 % schist, no topsoil. martinet, one of the re-original priorat producers.

A little ripe, a little sweet, a little soft, but nothing too bad. Good concentration and freshness, well balanced. Fruit is a bit baked but juicy and basically tasty. Unfortunately the good aspects compete with a bit of drying tannin on the backend and a bit of char on the nose say the wood isn't integrated yet. Also in the mix is a whiff of Brett. I'd say this should age longer and will reward, but the Brett is a total roll of the dice.

Had with dinner at 1550 Hyde in San Francisco.....too complex to describe. the smell tells you immediately it is from the south of france or spain. the body is lighter than expected from the aroma. We all enjoyed it very much and would seek it out again. dinner was great also.

A touch tough to score... take it with a grain of salt. On opening it screamed Priorat schist and minerality laden with warm baked earth, black cherry and currants and fruit galore. With some air the minerality recedes and fruit dominates... with more air oak becomes apparent... so hard to judge. For the first hour it was 90+ but slipping now. This is however clearly still young and primary. I won't open another for 2 years and I'll reserve a quality judgement until then though I anticipate good things!

Rich purple color. The nose shows black cherry, minerals and a raiseny earth quality. In the mouth the tannins are firm with lots of black pepper, and simple cherry flavors. Nice wine, though a bit light. 3.5/5

Beautifull nose of sous-bois, spices, meaty, red fruit... in the mouth, red berries, a bit of alcohol present
