  • Fresh with gently grippy tannins, good acidity and pleasing Christmas-cake cinnamon spiciness, this relatively inexpensive supermarket Barbaresco (£10) is much improved from previous vintages. And would be delicious, if the forward red berry fruit and tangy orange peel flavours weren't quite so caster-sugar-sweet and candied. Was sugar added to this wine?
