More viscous and ripe than I was expecting, we’re getting tropical fruits here with savory herbs and one of the most pure honey notes I’ve ever tasted. This mixed vintage has produced an exotic wine that absolutely delights right now.

Tasty! Sweet balanced with acidity, what more could you ask for! Green apple, Meyer lemon, apricot and mango with wet slate, petroleum, jasmine and beeswax. Pretty on the palate great tension of sweetness and acidity. Fun to drink, but lacks depth on palate.

Apricot, peach pit, lemon drop, and tennis ball on the nose. Dr. Pauly-Bergweiler’s 2014 Wehlener Sonnenuhr Riesling Spätlese slightly oily on the palate—this is, in my view a positive descriptor, held in check by an swirling undercurrent acidity that keeps it in balance. That classic kerosene-tennis ball note remerges on this wine’s lengthy finish, along with peach pit and green tea, a combination of flavors that lends complexity to a sensation of pleasant bitterness. On the verge of a dessert wine. I don't think that. '14 needed along time to come along. That's great stuff right now.

'14 is a rather overlooked vintage. Not the best vintage from the outset, but showing some quality to age with a few years in bottle now.
TDN and bee pollen again. That's the Dr. Pauly thing, I'd gather. Honey to the aromas.

Wines Before / At / After a Passover Seder (The Krengels - Bannockburn IL): Spring flowers with apple and pear. Moderate weight, but good minerality and acidity make the length and finish the highlights.
